MILWAUKEE -- “All my reports in middle school were about KISS or Gene Simmons,” said KISS fan Steve Olson of Elgin, Ill.
On Saturday night at the Marcus Amphitheatre, Olson is seeing the band play for the second time.
The first show he attended was in Chicago in September 2000.
KISS performs Saturday evening at the Marcus Amphitheater with opening act Chevelle.
The 20-year-old plans to see the band with his friend Andy Speranza, also of Elgin, Ill. It is Speranza’s first KISS concert.
Olson said the friends made a trip out of Summerfest this year. They were at the festival all day Friday beginning at noon and spent Saturday afternoon on the grounds before the KISS concert.

Gotten a lot of questions from media and from quite a lot of you Re: Michael Jackson.
I have refused all media requests for interviews. There are enough people in the industry being quoted. Some altruistically, some for media coverage.
When I was going out with Diana Ross in the early 80's, I met Michael a few times through her. We spent social time together.
Found him to be gentle, charming...obviously very talented. And that was that.
The Michael of later years is someone I didn't recognize...nor like very much.
When there are children involved...when there are allegations (many) of child molestation...when there are admissions of inviting countless young boys to spend weekends and sometimes Michael's bed with them (Michael's quote), clothed or unclothed...makes no difference...when there are payoffs to the children making the accusations in the $20,000,000 range ($20 Million Dollars!!! -- as reported by Media) ....There's more than doubt in my mind.
This doesn't take into consideration Michael's children...none of whom are biologically his. All three of whom have had a "strange" upbringing. But then, we don't know much, except a "Father" who thought nothing of dangling his young child over the balcony (head covered in a towel), so his fans could get a thrill.
So, what's my comment Re: Michael's passing? I hope he finds peace. I wish his family and friends all the best in these very sad times.
But as regards Media coverage: celebs can always get media coverage.
But what about the children who spent nights with Michael in his bed? (he has admitted on camera he has done it many times, and would continue to do it). They need a voice. And, they should have a chance to have their say. With lie detectors attached. Maybe then, away from rich celebrities, tricky lawyers and LA court systems that can't seem to convict anyone....maybe then, we'll find out the truth about child molestation charges leveled at Michael Jackson from children (that's plural, not singular).
My comment? I recognize and respect his talent, but the rest is very tainted. And I want to hear the truth, once and for all.
If there is any band that can pull off being pretentious without pretense, it's KISS.
The self-proclaimed "Hottest Band in the World" comes to Summerfest on Saturday night, making it the first Marcus Amphitheater headliner that requires a battalion of firefighters on hand in case the venue literally goes up in flames.
The beauty of KISS is that they know exactly who they are and why they are there. It's not "about the music." There are no political statements, no teen angst or brooding, no self-absorbed posing. They are there to make your ears bleed and singe your eyebrows. They are there to spit blood, breathe fire, smash guitars and deliver the classic, overindulgent 10-minute drum solo that hasn't changed in 35 years.
It's 1970's glam rock at it's finest, delivering a set list with two primary themes -- partying all night long, and infinite amounts of sex - often times with prostitutes ("Strutter," "Black Diamond," "She"), and one love song, "Beth." A lovely ballad about leaving your wife at home while you stay out all night writing songs about staying out all night and having infinite amounts of sex -- often with prostitutes.

Sunday, at 9pm, A&E will air “Economic Stimulus”, where Gene will ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange and spread the word about investing in America and Shannon does some spending of her own when she gets addicted to late night infomercials.
Next up is another new episode, “Slumber Party”. When Shannon falls ill it is up to Gene to keep an eye on Sophie and her 5 hyper friends, fend off a hoard of horny boys trying to crash the party and track down one bad girl who sneaks out for a little rendezvous.
CHRIS PIZZELLO / THE ASSOCIATED PRESS The rock band Kiss poses backstage after performing during the American Idol finale in Los Angeles this year.
From 1997 through 2002, Widespread Panic performed multiple nights at the Lakefront Arena at Halloween. After a six-year absence, the band returned for two nights in 2008. This year, Panic will be part of the 11th Voodoo Experience.
"Kiss playing is huge," said Rehage, who noted that he dressed as a band member for Mardi Gras when he was about 12. "Eminem is not touring -- not playing any other shows is what we've been told, so that's pretty massive, and the original Jane's Addiction -- that's great stuff."

ROCK AND ROLL OVER TOUR /NEW ORLEANS LA., DECEMBER 4, 1976
BACKSTORY:Fan filmed footage of KISS performing in New Orleans, LA on December 4, 1976 during the Rock and Roll Over tour was recently shared on YouTube by a small group of die hard KISS fans who are working to preserve the 8mm film legacy of the band. This footage has been in collectors circles for nearly 3 decades, but now the actual audio of the same concert has been added, giving it new life.
The collective is also hoping other fans can help upgrade films, provide missing details, or come forth with canisters of films that may be in attics or otherwise collecting dust. Fans are encouraged to contribute to the project by contacting email@example.com.

Watch and listen (you may have to turn your volume up to hear better) to Gene talk about Wal-Mart to Denise Richards about KISS.
KISS would follow in the footprints of AC/DC and the Eagles in exclusive deals with the retailer to sell new music. This is a very clever move on Gene, Paul and Doc's part as Wal-Mart spends the money on advertising and promotion.
Editor's Note: It's likely the new album will be exclusive at the retailer also, though no confirmation of that has been made official by the band yet.

TOMMY THAYER INTERVIEW FROM GUITARRA MAGAZINE TRANSCRIBED TO ENGLISH:
(Special Thanks to DeuceNews for the transcription)
"The band is working on a song called "Rotten to the Core" but it is not the old one. We are writing all new songs and there are no outsider writers. All is new. All four of us are involved. We are all really motivated and it will be the best KISS album in a long time.Psycho Circus was an album without a clear direction and vision. There’re songs on it…you start listening to and you go “what the hell is this??” It will be not the case this time.We are currently writing songs while staying in the hotel [during the South American Alive35 leg], Gene, Paul and myself sit down with the guitars in the hotel room and write down new tunes for the album. Yes I’m going to sing on a new tune on the album and it is not titled “Shock Me”!!It's a great tune, there is something that people missed, and that I am a good singer, I am a good vocalist. I have much experience, but I've never been a solo singer. My voice works well on that and I think people will be surprised. For what concern new possible costumes for the fall tour a decision will be taken soon, I like so much the costumes from the Rock and Roll Over era, we will see."

Hi KISS fellows,
Today I’ve the pleasure to talk with one of my favourite guitar players around: Mr. Rafael Moreira. We left Rafael, August last year while finishing his first Album with Magnetico, and
now….Magnetico is here!!!! Most of KISS fan know him as the guitarist in Paul Stanley’s band for the Live to Win tour, but without no doubts Rafa is much more then that.
He performed as part of the House Band for the CBS television reality show Rock Star: INXS and subsequently Rock Star: Supernova. His amazing talent has driven him to support and play with some of the giants of rock and pop’s music like the ones as Paul Stanley (KISS), Steven Tyler (Aerosmith), Tommy Lee (Motley Crue), Don Felder (The Eagles), Dave Navarro (Jane's Addiction), Pink, Christina Aguilera, Marc Anthony and Enrique Iglesias.
His powerhouse trio Magnetico, with Corey McCormick on bass guitar and backing vocals and Joey K. on drums and backing vocals, was recently voted by Music Connection Magazine as one of the Top 100 Unsigned Bands in the U.S.A. You HAVE TO listen to their magnetic music, there’s nothing equal in the present music scene nowadays!!!
Ciao, Rafa! let’s talk about "Songs About The World"!!! You got the lion share on that, you played all guitars, lead vocals and you even produced it!!!
Guilty as charged. My initial plan was to have someone else produce the album, so we could focus only on performing the music. I went and met with some producers but couldn't find anyone that I felt comfortable with, so I decided to go in with the band and record all the basic tracks in two days. Then it came down to the vocals, which I thought were an important and crucial part on this CD. I met with bass player/producer John Avila from Oingo Boingo, who had seen us live and liked the music very much, so John produced one vocal track on the CD, called "Killer Girl" which I think came out great! But since I didn't have the budget and support of a label or anything I just had to trust my gut instincts and continue to do it myself
(again)! I had previously self produced my first solo CD called "Acid Guitar" and other artists as well, so I had my friend guitar player/engineer George Wabisca engineer and help with sounds throughout the whole record. It was a lot of hard work, especially cutting my own
vocals, but in the end I think it came out pretty good.
I remember last year when I first listen to the disk's opening cut "The Emperor" I literally fell in love with your music!!! Can you make some comments on this cool tune?
Thank you. I was on a plane going to do some shows in Iceland when I started writing lyrics for this tune , I was so fed up with George Bush's bs at the time that I had to do something about it and I wanted to invite people in and make them think about it and join the fight! I wanted the song be strong and mid tempo so I wrote the riff on my Les Paul Baritone!

The rumors are swirling over Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley's appearance (along with KISS manager Doc McGhee) at the Wal-Mart shareholder's meeting in Fayetteville, Arkansas at the Bud Walton Arena that KISS will sell their new (untitled) album at the nation's 2nd largest retailer.
With Paul and Gene frustrated with the current situation of the recording industry, or lack there of, it makes sense that KISS would cut an exclusive deal with such a large chain. The release will mark KISS' first album since 1998's PSYCHO CIRCUS, their first in 11 years. This marriage between artist and retailer is working. AC/DC and Miley Cyrus have both released album's through Wal-Mart. Both artists have has stellar years. Also comes word that Aerosmith are rumored to be following suit.
A KISS/Wal-Mart deal could also generate a merchandising blitz at the retailer as well with KISS' unique brand of over 2,500 products under license.
We're betting at KISS MASK that this is indeed reality and that a Wal-Mart only KISS album is on it's way with a September release and 60 date US/Canadian tour to follow.

Wags & Elliott of the Columbus, Ohio radio station QFM96 recently conducted an interview with KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmonss. The eight-minute chat is now available for download as an MP3 audio file at this location.
On the topic of KISS' much-anticipated new CD, Gene said, "[It's the] first studio album in 11 years. And you can't force those things — either it's in your blood and it's happening or... This is, I have to say... this might be the best new record we've done since 'Destroyer'. In fact, it has a similar sound — 'Rock And Roll Over'-meets-'Love Gun' kind of a record. That's coming out in September/October, and then we're gonna be doing a 60-city American tour."
