(from Bravewords & Bloody Knuckles -http://www.bravewords.com/news/114723)
KISS' 'I Was Made For Lovin' You' was voted the #1 greatest rock hit by the readers of Austria's Krone Newspaper. The song was originally released on KISS' 1979 album Dynasty and it was released as the A-side of their first single from the album.
It was the band's second Gold single, selling over 1 million copies. According to Wikipedia, the song draws heavily from the disco style that was popular in the United States in the late 1970s.
KISS guitarist and vocalist Paul Stanley, who co-wrote the song with Desmond Child and Vini Poncia, has stated that 'I Was Made For Lovin' You' was a conscious effort on his part to prove how easy it was to write and record a hit disco song.
"May 26.... Saw Gene Simmons at lunch time who was quite pleasant. Herr Simmons told me Paul Stanley was producing the new Kiss record, how good it was, and even the title - which I'm not telling you! Gene did say that Paul had come up with it, and it is good." - Ross Haflin. I was having lunch the other day with Paul Stanley from Kiss, and both of us agreed that this is an incredibly special time to be a classic rock musician. And neither of us would be thrilled at the idea of being a young band, trying to start out now in these unusual times. We’re all very grateful that we still have this opportunity to perform to enthusiastic crowds.

It seems everybody’s got an opinion on this week’s American Idol finale. Kiss bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons, who generally has an opinion on everything, is no different.
On Simmons’s Web site, he’s been answering questions from fans about the band’s appearance on Wednesday’s jaw-dropping Idol finale, including his opinion on this year’s runner-up, the guyliner-lovin’ Adam Lambert. Does Gene think Lambert has a promising career in rock ‘n’ rolling all night? Not quite.
Read the rest at http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2009/05/22/gene-simmons-says-american-idols-adam-lambert-is-no-rock-singer/
His reply: "Respectfully, I don't think Adam is a rock singer. He sounds much more convincing singing ballads, and Broadway shows. His voice doesn't seem to have a 'rock quality.' But, I'm sure he's going to do just fine."

Adam Lambert introduced KISS - WOW! - and the strange getup became a bit more clear. This was the most awesome moment in all of Idol history, for me personally. Amid pyrotechnic wonders, the band worked the song to a frenzy with Adam’s strong rock vocals on display. “Detroit Rock City,” and you’d better believe it.
This quickly turned, of course, into KISS’ anthem song. Gene Simmons made the song hot, Adam set it off. It this wasn’t the YouTube moment of the season, then I don’t know what was. Lambert definitely got the best number, and I’m ready to call it the best finale in eight years.
Carlos Santana had the unenviable task of following the act. He strummed out some of his famous licks, which felt very slow-paced after the unbelievable energy KISS brought to the theatre. I was actually screaming to see more KISS by this point.
(Editor's Note: There were a ton of musicians on Wednesday night's "American Idol" finale, but KISS is getting the most publicity and it's all positive. -JFH)

"I think It would be a great idea for KISS to do this and I hope the producers get them. This would be great for the band, great exposure with an audience in the millions and a chance to turn millions on to KISS. And if they performed with Adam Lambert, that would be an amazing performance as Adam Lambert has already stated KISS as one of his influences. I don't usually print rumours here on the MASK, but this one rumour I like"- J. Frank Hagan
It's possible? There is a tidbit running at Showhype.com -
If KISS really does show up, they’ll be the odd band out cos they’ll be performing alongside David Cook, Carlos Santana, Queen Latifah, Black Eyed Peas, and Jason Mraz, as well as Keith Urban who’ll do a duet with Kris Allen, and Cyndi Lauper who will duet with Allison Iraheta. Then again, apparently producers are trying to get David Bowie to do a duet with Adam Lambert! I wonder if 80’s glam rock will return if Adam Lambert wins?

According to Teenhollywood.com, KISS' Gene Simmons has blinged up his image - he paid $20,000 for a pair of gold sunglasses. The band returned with the best set-list any Kiss Fan could have asked for. Digging deep into it's rich musical history and pulling out some classics we hadn't heard in years. And if it couldn't get any better - the band put on a new show with huge, well put together production and staging that rivaled the 1970s.
-KISS MASK MAGAZINE
KISS began their Hot In The Shade Tour May 4th, 1990 in Lubbock, Texas and went on to perform over 120 shows before ending Nov. 9th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
The tour featured the biggest KISS stage since the 70's with a huge Sphinx nicknamed Leon as the center piece. KISS made a dramatic entrance through Leon's mouth while surrounded by green lasers. Though there was no "You wanted the best, you got the best" intro, an energetic KISS tore through a 21 song set list spanning their entire career.
Several other KISS concert staples, Gene breathing fire and Paul smashing his guitar, were also absent from the show. But Leon was the perfect compliment to the powerful KISS set, shooting fireworks out of his eyes and "singing" the middle section of "God of Thunder" before collapsing to the stage during the bombastic end of "Detroit Rock City". On the encore, KISS brought out the mirrored ball and the famous lighted KISS sign finally made an appearance, rising slowly from below the stage to the roar of the crowd as KISS kicked into "I Want You".
Set list most nights:I Stole Your Love / Deuce / Heaven's On Fire / Crazy, Crazy Nights / Lick It Up / Black Diamond / Shout It Out Loud / Strutter / Calling Dr. Love / Rise To It / Fits Like A Glove / God Of Thunder / Forever / Hide Your Heart / Cold Gin / Tears Are Falling / I Love It Loud / Love Gun / Detroit Rock City / I Want You / Rock And Roll All NiteOn a few occasions during the tour KISS would also perform "C'mon And Love Me" and "I Was Made For Lovin' You". Eric Carr also sang "Little Caesar" at least once on the tour, which would be his last.
Legendary rock god multi-hyphenate Gene Simmons (KISS) and his unconventional family are back and better than ever for an all-new season of A&E’s hit unscripted series Gene Simmons Family Jewels premiering with a special one-hour episode on Sunday, June 7th at 10:00 PM ET/PT. The 15-episode season kicks off with Sophie’s sweet sixteen party, giving viewers an all access pass to the milestone celebration. When a case of sibling rivalry spirals out of control, Nick pulls on dad's heartstrings and his sense of theatrics to escalate the low key party she wanted into the blowout of the century, all to the dismay of shy Sophie.
In addition to Sophie’s sweet sixteen, the new season will give viewers a behind the scenes look at the entire family’s many adventures. From Gene’s appearance on Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?, to Gene filming a Japanese monster flick, to Shannon preparing for a role in a roller derby exploitation film, to Nick getting his own apartment, to Sophie fending off ill-intentioned teenaged boys, viewers will follow the Simmons-Tweed clan as they set out to prove, yet again, why they are the most non-traditional, traditional family in America.
Leslie Greif, Adam Reed, Adam Freeman and Gene Simmons are the series executive producers. Gene Simmons Family Jewels is produced by The Greif Company and the Gene Simmons Company. Robert Sharenow and Neil A. Cohen are the A&E Executive Producers. up to get snapped by fotogs, what it was really about was actually taking some time out of our lives, and doing some good for those less fortunate.
