If you love celebrity golf, and who in the desert doesn’t, this is the weekend for you.
Two large celebrity events are being played on the same weekend. The first is the Frank Sinatra Starkey Hearing Aid tournament at Eagle Falls Golf Club at Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino in Indio. That tournament raises money for the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center at Eisenhower Medical Center. Golf will be played today and tomorrow, with parties tonight and a gala tomorrow.
The other event is the newest and one of the strongest events, the Partrick Warburton Golf for Kids tournament benefitting St. Jude’s Children hospital. There is a pairing party today and golf Saturday and Sunday at Classic Club in Palm Desert. There is also a jam session that looks like a winner, with people like Jerry Cantrell from Alice in Chain and Robbie Krieger from The Doors and Alica Cooper and Tommy Thayer from KISS at the event.
It’s easy to ask when two such celebrity tournaments, each for the benefit of children in some way, are being played on the same weekend. It’s more than possible that they have kind of split up the potential celebrity field and the potential galleries.
But if there is an area that can handle bother events, I would guess it is the desert. So many hit the Sinatra event Saturday and the Warburton event Sunday and do a little daytime stargazing.
