Corrected! KISS in Japan. Thanks to one of our KISS MASK readers, NFAREND, he noticed Peter's bass drum as a different color than on the KISS Meets the Phantom movie shoot. We noticed that KISS is (during souncheck) using the Destroyer/KISS logo on the Love Gun stage set- notice no makeup.
Hi, great photo! This must be 1977, Japan I think. You can tell by the drumset, which is white. Peter had a black set during the 1977/78Love Gun/Alive II tours.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I am pulling fotos out of all Kiss archives. You're right. It looks as thouhg this is from Japan, but it looks as though it was taken outdoors?!
ReplyDeleteHmm, yeah.. it looks like it's outside. But on the other hand maybe the background is illuminated, or there's a white curtain or a concrete wall (that's maybe even way in the back)?! This must be the RNRO tour for sure and I don't think they used this set on the US-leg of this tour. The Love Gun tour had this stage set but it was an improved version (with the elevators etc. I guess).
ReplyDeleteGreat weblog, I'm coming back almost every day to check it because you have really excellent up to date news and other great stuff.
You're using another user name on www.kissforum.de aren't you? I forgott what it was, and I think we have been in touch somehow. You're on the KAA as well, aren't you?
Keep up this great work!
All the best, NFAREND (The Netherlands)
They are still using the KISS logo from the "Destroyer" tour but with the Love Gun stage set. It must be Japan.
ReplyDeleteYes, I know you! How are you? I've been going to the KFS. Same screen name I had over at KissdeNews.
NFAREND: You're correction is noted.
ReplyDeleteThanks LATE NIGHT ROCKER (Wildwood, right?!). However, it's the first time that I read that the KISS logo from Destroyer is different from the Love Gun tour. I always thought from Destroyer up until Animalize it was the same logo on stage?!
